Chess Client for Palm OS

The current version is 1.0.
This is a client which should allow you to play a game of chess on FICS or ICC. It is being released under the
Gnu Public License (GPL). It requires a 3COM Palm Pilot computer with
an existing PPP connection to the internet.
My Setup
I am developing the software on a Palm III with the prc-tools for
Linux. I connect my Palm III to the internet either through a hot
sync cable to my PC or via IR to my cell phone, a Nokia 8290.
Limitations
You have to move pieces by tapping on the square you are moving to
followed by the square that you want to move it to. I should
implement dragging of pieces. I should also highlight the piece that
is originally selected.
Thanks
Thanks to Kevin for the
piece bitmaps. His web site is http://www.birdbrain.net
Thanks to Michael Peay for the Minico font.

News
Version 1.0 is now out. This implements two additional sets of piece
bitmaps, so there is now a choice between 12pt, 16pt and 18pt.
For Linux users out there, here are some instructions for getting your
Palm Pilot on the internet through your Hot Sync cradle:

I could use volunteers to work on lots of stuff:
- testing
- programming
- web site design
- documentation
Send me email if you would
like to help. And join the mailing list.
